David Riley’s artwork is inspired by the universal narratives of humanity and creatures that share planet earth. David works primarily in oil, contrasting contemporary color fields and abstract space with traditional handling of the figure. He uses natural tones, color harmonies and technique to showcase emotion and the vibrancy of life. David’s paintings exhibit a balance of expression and realism, showcasing the quintessential aspects of personality and likeness.
His rigorous dedication to learning the art of figurative painting form the basis of his career as a full-time gallery artist. David has been a finalist in the Art Renewal Center Annual Salon, Oil Painter’s of America National Juried Exhibition and was in the top 100 finalists in the prestigious London BP Portrait Award.
